Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has said Azimio leader Raila Odinga would have allowed  Kenya Kwanza to have the majority in the National Assembly if he was in the same situation as President William Ruto.

His comments come hot on the heels of a push and pull witnessed at the National Assembly regarding who between the Azimio and Kenya Kwanza  Alliance has the majority members.

In a tweet on Friday, Amisi said he sometimes disagrees with his party leader because he easily gives up in such kind of situations.

"If baba was the president faced with majority leadership issue in bunge (parliament), he would have let it go to Kenya Kwanza in the name of democratic principles. This is where I sometimes disagree with my party leader. He is too good and easily gives in," he tweeted.

National assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula on Thursday declared that Kenya Kwanza had the majority representation in parliament.

He announced that Kenya Kwanza has 179 MPs against Azimio which he said has 157MPs.

The announcement on Thursday caused an uproar among members of the Azimio team who felt the decision was unfair.

Wetangula was eventually forced to end the parliamentary proceedings early as order could no longer be maintained after the announcement.

A group of Azimio MPs caused chaos leading to the adjournment of the sitting.
