Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has said he felt disappointed after missing out on President William Ruto's Cabinet appointment.

Sudi said the president momentarily made him believe he was among the nominees.

He narrated how he arrived for the unveiling ceremony at State House in Nairobi ready to witness the big occasion unfold when the president called him aside and asked him why he wasn't in a tie.

“This made me think he was going to name me a CS. I hurriedly drove back home and scanned my wardrobe for an expensive tie,” Sudi said.

Sudi says all the while he was convinced he had made it to the coveted list of Cabinet appointees. He waited with bated breath to hear his name being mentioned.

“At State House, I took a strategic position to catch his attention. I got confused when the president announced Roads CS nominee Onesmus Kipchumba,” Sudi said.

“For some reason, my ears failed to hear Onesmus and only heard the president mention Kipchumba.

“I desperately inquired from Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa (Kikuyu MP) which Kipchumba the president had mentioned and he told me it was Murkomen,” Sudi said.

He, however, left the venue a disappointed man after missing out on the list.

President Ruto announced his Cabinet on September 27, exactly a fortnight after taking the oath of office.
