Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has lauded President William Ruto for appointing Zachariah Njeru to head the Lands, Housing and Physical Planning docket.

Zachariah Mwangi Njeru who hails from Nakuru County now awaits parliament approval to take the coveted docket.

Through a post on her social media accounts, Kihika thanked President Ruto for considering Nakuru county in his cabinet line-up.

“This is a huge win for Nakuru having a full Cabinet Minister since independence. Thank you H.E. President William Ruto for keeping your word and giving Nakuru County a full Minister. Nakuru is happy,” Kihika said.

Njeru becomes the second Minister after Achieng Oneko to hail from Nakuru since independence.

Zachariah Njeru served as Nakuru Town East Sub-county administrator under the governorship of first Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.

He has a Masters of Arts in Public Administration and Management from Mt Kenya University and an undergraduate degree in Information Science from Moi University.
