Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has warned Kenyans to be cautious of scammers using his name to offer freebies.

Sonko said in a tweet on Friday that the fraudsters are using his name to promise their victims nonexistent loans and access to prominent individuals.

"Mike Sonko loans; Mike Sonko investments sijui Mike Sonko has launched a project to make money, mara Bitcoins, free motorbikes," the former county boss said.

Sonko stated that the cons are also using his name to lure their victims into false investments and acquiring free cars.

"Wengine wanaitishwa pesa ati kwenda kuumuona President na wamama wanaambiwa kwenda kumuona First lady lazima mulipe pesa. Hiyo yote ni utapeli chungeni sana musipoteze pesa mubaki mukilia," Sonko said.

(Others are being asked to pay cash to go see the President while women are being told they must first pay to see the First Lady. All this is fraud, be careful not to lose your money then resort to crying)

The former governor said all these are scams and Kenyans should avoid falling prey to.

"When the deal is too good you always think twice," Sonko said.
