Form three Maseno School student has died after falling from the second floor of their dormitory.

The student died while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu.

According to the police report, the incident was reported by the deputy Principal of Maseno School John Okoth.

Okoth noted that around today at 4 am, he received information from one student, in form three that while the students were about to wake up, he heard a loud thud of something having fallen from the second floor to the ground next to a window where his bed is located of their school dormitory.

"He rushed out to check what it was and it's then that he noticed that one student 18-year-old had jumped through the window from the 2nd floor of their dorm".

According to the deputy Principal, the minor called other students to help him save the life of their colleague.

"The student was rushed to Coptic hospital in Luanda sub-county for treatment".

He noted that the student had sustained serious head injuries and the Coptic hospital ambulance had to rush him to Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu for further management.

"The school administration contacted the victim's parents who were able to avail themselves at Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu just in time.

The student however passed on while receiving his treatment.

A suicide note, according to the police report, was recovered from his desk.

It was addressed to his close friend and classmate to take possession of his belonging.

"There was an indication that there was some misunderstanding with his parents due to what his closest friend said was the poor performance," the report read in parts.

The scene of the crime was visited by detectives and processed.

The body is lying at Aga Khan hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
