Ruto tops in Balambala, Garissa county

Kenya Kwanza's William Ruto has bagged a majority of votes in Balambala Constituency, Garissa County.

Ruto got 7,854 votes to beat his Azimio la Umoja competitor Raila Odinga.

Raila garnered a total of 5,714 votes out of 13,552 valid votes.

Roots party candidate George Wajackoyah managed 72 votes while David Mwaure of Agano got 12 votes.

The electrol body chairman, Wafula Chebukati said that 84 votes cast were rejected.

Balambala Constituency has 26,085 registered electorates.
