Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok was on Friday declared the winner after defeating his close rival Isaac Rutto.

Barchok garnered 158,798 votes while Rutto got 137,323 votes.

Barchok defended his seat on a UDA ticket while Rutto was contesting on the Chama cha Mashinani party.

There are 376,985 registered voters from 853 polling stations in the county up from 322,012 from 728 polling stations in 2017.

Barchok took over from the late Governor Joyce Laboso in 2019.
