Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Saturday loaded praises on Mama Ida terming her the strongest woman alive.
In his opening remarks during his final pitch to woo voters ahead of the August 9 polls at the Kasarani stadium, Raila thanked those who have stood by him in his struggle to liberate the country but gave Ida special mention.
"I wish especially to thank the strongest human being known to me. her excellency Dr Ida Betty Anyango Odinga," Raila said.
"She is the mother to our four children, the pillar to our family and secret weapon to our combined strength," Raila said.
Ida assumed the standing position as her husband made the opening remarks.
Raila and Ida have four children; Fidel (deceaded), Rosemary Akeyo, Raila Junior and Winnie.
The ODM leader said the four are all of different character but are endowed with the strength of their mother Ida.
He said every time he was put behind bars in the 1980s, the system then thought they had stopped the fight for Kenya only for them to meet a more relentless fighter.
"A fighter as determined as only a mother can be for her children. Nothing can stop a good woman fighting shoulder to shoulder with an engineer." Raila said.
