Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has revealed that Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka was sent to dupe him by the deep state.

He alleged that Kalonzo lied to him that he was unwanted in Nairobi and that he should seek for an elective seat somewhere else.

"Kalonzo, alinipoteza. He was sent to tell me that Nairobi people rejected.Alitumwa kuniingiza box akanipeleka huko mombasa," Sonko said.

Speaking at the Kenya Kwanza rally at Nyayo Stadium, Sonko said Deputy President William Ruto picked him up after being fought the Azimio La Umoja Coalition.

Urging Nairobi people to vote for Ruto, Sonko said the DP was a representation of people who were oppressed by the government.

" Ruto aliona nilivyo adhibiwa  an akanichukua. Na siko pekee yangu.. Look at Duale , Murkomen, Kihika  all are were oppressed by the government but thus will change soon.

When the second senate came into existence after the 2017 General elections, Senator Kindiki Kithure was the Deputy Speaker, Murkomen was the Leader of the Majority Party and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika was the Majority Whip.

However, when senators decided to politically align themselves against their own party ( Jubilee), the axe fell on them.

Uasin Gishu Senator Margaret Kamar replaced Kindiki as Deputy Speaker when he was removed after a majority vote in May 2020.

West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio also replaced  Murkomen as Majority leader while Murang'a senator Irungu Kang'ata was later replaced by  Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi.

The changes were effected following a Jubilee Coalition Senate Parliamentary Group Meeting chaired by Uhuru.

Kang’ata was ousted for warming up to Ruto’s political camp.

The changes came after senators allied to President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga christened 'the handshake team' met and struck a deal to avoid competition for the seat.

Sonko bashed Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu for going to bed with the deep state instead of fighting for the rights of the residents.

He questioned why the incumbent has not fought for the compensation of the residents whose houses were demolished.

“Ule governor bonoko wa Nairobi after being sworn in instead of working and kutetea wanyonge waliobomolewa nyumba , she worked with the system,” Sonko added.

Sonko explained that he was called to state house to approve the demolitions that took place in Nairobi during the covid-19 pandemic but he refused.

“Wale wakubwa serikali walikuwa wananiita pale staye house. Tunataka areas za mukuri, karibangi zibomolewe. I however refused and  I said I cannot fight voters who elected me into leadership,’ he said.

In addition, Soinko drummed support for Nairobi candidates and urged people to vote for the Kenya Kwanza team led by Senator Johnson Sakaja.
