The Political Parties (Amendment) Bill, 2021 resulted in a vicious battle on the floor of Parliament.

Deputy President William Ruto, knowing very well his side is losing the plot, encouraged them to fight on so as to show that he is no pushover when it comes to key decision-making.

The amendments to dissolve the office of the Registrar of Political Parties and to come up with a corporate board to administer elections was not a inclusive process.

It's geared to shift democracy and representation to boardrooms rather than give the Registrar of Political Parties the independence to manage the affairs of political parties.

The UDA brigade is a dictatorial faction that is determined to capture and operate key institutions for their own interests.

There was no public participation carried out in order to determine the suitability of the amendments.

This is a clear indication the many amendments to the bill were geared to benefit the legislators allied to Ruto.

In 2017, the Jubilee nominations were fraudulent, unfair and skewed to favour select political elite. It's a case of new forest, same monkeys.

The office of Registrar of Political Parties is non-partisan and independent.

The Azimio brigade stood firm and fought for the interest of the common mwananchi to ensure transparency, rule of law and good governance.

As a country, we have witnessed and shed blood as a result of poor political decisions that destroy the very fabric that holds us together.

Consensus, equality and good governance should be the pillars of every government.

During the launch of Azimio La Umoja in Kasarani, Raila Odinga vowed to unite all Kenyans from all tribes, religions, cultural backgrounds, economic and political stands to place this country on a better level.

UDA party is a political bulldozing machine whose intention is to benefit just a few of Ruto's cronies.

Its a sole proprietorship kiosk that is run by the owner, who makes the final decision according to his wishes, while the yes-men have to toe the line.

Kenya is a country that needs proper governance, inclusivity of all citizens and fair policy making processes.
