Twelve people have been charged at a Mombasa court with stealing from a company associated with Uasin Gishu governor aspirant Zedekiah Bundotich, popularly known as Buzeki.
The 12 allegedly stole 28 tonnes of fertiliser valued at Sh2.5 million, the property of Buzeki Enterprises.
Buzeki Enterprises is believed to be owned by the politician.
The accused are Moses Musembi, Abdi Kadir, Joseph Kilusha, Paul Nyambu, Stephen Nzioka and Christopher Majaliwa.
The others are Jonathan Kasyoka, John Kithome, Denise Indoshi, Hamisi Hussein, Julius Ndunda and Amos Ndunda.
They are said to have stolen the fertiliser, which was in transit from KPA to the ETG warehouse in Bonje.They allegedly committed the crime on the night of May 31 in Changamwe, Mombasa county. They denied the charges.
State counsel Shakwila Ayekha told senior principal magistrate Lilian Lewa that the fertiliser was recovered and was in Buzeki Enterprises custody.
They were all released on Sh100,000 bond each.
