TikTok intensified its content crackdown in Kenya between January and March 2026, removing 884,591 videos for community guideline violations.

According to a TikTok report released July 23 for Q1 2026, automated systems detected 99.7% of the removed videos proactively, with 96.3% taken down within 24 hours of publication.

The platform also targeted underage users, deleting 48,739 accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under 13 years old.

Live broadcasting faced enforcement as well, with 103,847 LIVE rooms interrupted for guideline infractions.

However, following further review, 8,838,710 videos were reinstated.

Addressing synthetic media, TikTok requires realistic AI-generated content to be labelled, with its AI labelling efforts covering more than 3 billion videos to date.
