Art remains the most popular passion investment among wealthy Kenyans, according to Knight Frank’s Wealth & Investment Trends 2026 Kenya Edition.

The report ranks art as the leading collectible asset, followed by watches and classic cars, highlighting growing interest in alternative investments beyond traditional property and financial markets.

Watches have overtaken classic cars as the second-most-sought-after collectible asset, reflecting increasing demand for luxury timepieces among high-net-worth individuals.

Other preferred investments include jewellery, wine, furniture, rare whisky, coloured diamonds, luxury handbags and coins.

The findings suggest that affluent Kenyans are increasingly diversifying their portfolios into assets that combine personal passion with long-term value appreciation.

Collectibles such as art and watches are often viewed as both status symbols and stores of wealth that can retain or increase their value over time.

Analysts say the trend mirrors global wealth patterns, where investors are allocating more capital to tangible luxury assets.

The rise of watches in particular points to changing preferences among collectors seeking portable, high-value investments with strong international resale markets.
