A newly released report highlights a vast disparity in the expenses diaspora members face when sending money home to Kenya.

Data from the 2025 Remittances Household Survey Report by CBK, KNBS, & fsd Kenya reveals that South Africa is the most expensive corridor, costing 15.8 Shillings to encash Sh1,000.

It is closely followed by Qatar at 14.5 and Turkey at 14.1.

In contrast, European nations offer much cheaper alternatives; France stands at 1.9, Denmark at 1.2, while Spain is the most economical corridor at just 0.1 Shillings
