Electricity consumption in Kenya has been rising over the years.
This is being driven by industrial expansion, increased urbanisation and rising household consumption.
The country generates approximately 90 per cent of its electricity from renewable sources, primarily geothermal and hydropower.
Kenya Power is also actively championing the uptake of e-cooking to contribute positively to environmental conservation.
According to KPLC, Electricity demand exceeded the 2,000 MW threshold towards the end of 2021.
