Commercial banks with the highest lending interest rates in Kenya include Access Bank (Kenya) PLC at 19.79 per cent and Credit Bank PLC at 19.44 per cent.
Others include Middle East Bank (K) Limited at 18.77 per cent, HFC Limited at 18.62 per cent, and UBA Kenya Bank Limited at 18.54 per cent.
These rates make borrowing significantly more expensive at these institutions compared to others.
In December, the Kenya Bankers Association said that while the lending rates were set to drop, the reductions would be implemented progressively due to the nature of the banking sector.
