The inaugural National Science Research Translation Congress is set to take place on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025, at the African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC) in Kitisuru, Nairobi.
Organised by The Star Publications, the event will run from 8 am to 1 pm, bringing together scientists, government officials, and digital storytellers for a collaborative dialogue on bridging the gap between research and policy.
The congress will focus on four main areas: research translation, policy impact, media collaboration, and digital branding.
Discussions will explore how scientific discoveries can be transformed into actionable policies and public health interventions that directly benefit communities.
Participants will also examine strategies for enhancing the visibility of research outcomes through both legacy and digital media platforms. With an emphasis on evidence-based advocacy, the event seeks to strengthen partnerships between researchers and policymakers to ensure that scientific knowledge informs government programs and national priorities.
Sessions on digital branding will guide scientists on leveraging online platforms such as LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok, and podcasts to share insights and engage with wider audiences.
Ultimately, the congress aims to establish an annual platform for science communication and public engagement in Kenya.
By fostering collaboration across sectors, it hopes to inspire a culture where research not only informs policy but also drives tangible social and health improvements.
