The government has identified key state-owned enterprises for privatisation as part of efforts to boost efficiency and reduce the public wage burden.
The targeted entities include the Kenya Pipeline Company, Kenya Literature Bureau, National Oil Corporation of Kenya, Kenya Seed Company Limited, and Rivatex East Africa Ltd.
These firms have long been central to Kenya’s industrial and energy sectors.
However, previous attempts to privatise or lease such enterprises have been marred by court battles, political interference, and resistance from workers.
The new privatisation drive signals a renewed push to attract private investment and enhance productivity in state corporations.
