The electricity supply sector experienced substantial growth as the annual electricity generated increased from 13,684.60GWh in 2024 to 14,472 GWh in the period under review.

The peak demand for electricity also increased by 6.4% from 2,177 MW to 2,316 MW.

While GDP growth fluctuated due to global and domestic factors, electricity generation showed a steady upward trend, reflecting investments in power production and grid expansion.

This divergence suggests that energy sector growth may be laying the groundwork for broader economic transformation.

Reliable electricity is a cornerstone of industrialisation, digital connectivity, and service delivery, making its expansion a strategic priority.
