A Global Index, sourced from the BOSCH Report on AI 2025, lists the Top 10 technologies believed to pose the highest risks, with Artificial Intelligence leading the list.
AI is perceived as the most likely source of negative societal impact, cited by 34% of respondents.
Closely following are Humanoid robots/service robots at 30%, reflecting widespread anxiety about job displacement and the role of robots in daily life. Self-driving cars/automated driving ranks third at 19%, indicating concerns over safety and employment.
Other technologies viewed with skepticism include Industrial robots (16%) and Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality (14%). Biotechnology, Climate engineering, and Service drones are each flagged by 10% of respondents.
Rounding out the top ten are Air taxis and Blockchain, both registering 9%. The results underscore a growing global apprehension about the rapid advancement of automation and sophisticated technologies.
