The Anglican Church, under Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit, has raised concerns over the rising cost of living, saying that Kenyans are still struggling despite official claims of economic recovery.
The bishops dismissed the recent drop in maize flour prices as superficial, arguing that it does little to ease the wider economic hardship.

They also criticised government “empowerment” programmes, describing them as discriminatory and unsustainable, and faulted both national and county administrations for extravagance highlighted in the Auditor General’s reports.
Separately, the church opposed a proposed Bill seeking to regulate sermons, terming it unwarranted state interference in religious affairs.
