    Between March 2020 and August 2025, several major companies and U.S. government departments recorded significant layoffs globally.

    According to Statista, Intel led with 43,115 job cuts, followed by Microsoft at 30,013 and the U.S. Department of Treasury with 29,616.

    Amazon laid off 27,940 workers, while Meta shed 24,700.

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reduced its workforce by 17,019. Tesla and Cisco followed closely with 14,500 and 14,300, respectively.

    The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) cut 14,211 jobs, while Google laid off 13,547.
