What do you mainly use Threads for?

Even though Threads is not yet among the most commonly used social media platforms in Kenya, GeoPoll, shows that about 10 per cent of Kenyan users are active on Threads.

Among these users, 74 per cent turn to Threads to follow news sources and journalists, reflecting its role as an information hub.

Additionally, 69 per cent use the platform to share short updates and personal thoughts in a more intimate and immediate way.

A notable 65 per cent actively participate in discussions and debates, making Threads a venue for engagement and exchange.

While the user base is relatively small compared to other platforms, its use is clearly oriented toward staying informed, self-expression, and civic engagement.

This highlights Threads as a meaningful but niche space in Kenya's social media landscape.
