Top 10 counties that registered highest births in 2024

The Kenya Vital Statistics Report 2024 shows Nairobi City leading in registered births with 137,024, followed by Kiambu (56,468) and Nakuru (55,318).

Kakamega recorded 44,283, Bungoma 42,553, and Kilifi 37,831. Migori had 33,982, Uasin Gishu 32,614, Meru 31,515, and Kajiado 31,160.

These counties reflect areas with growing populations and high urban or rural settlement activity.

The numbers highlight the importance of investing in maternal healthcare, early childhood services, and infrastructure to accommodate population pressures.

County governments must also ensure efficient civil registration systems and reach remote areas to improve completeness.
