Most stolen vehicles by make in Kenya in 2024

Vehicle theft in Kenya remains a significant concern, with most cases involving the theft of vehicle parts.
According to the Association of Kenya Insurers, 54.28 per cent of reported thefts in 2024 involved stolen parts, making it the most common form of vehicle-related crime.
Additionally, 31.91 per cent of vehicles were stolen while parked, while 7.24% were hijacked.
Another 6.58 per cent of cases fell into unspecified categories.
Toyota vehicles are the most targeted, accounting for 54.91 per cent of stolen cars, followed by Isuzu at 12.88 per cent, Mazda at 7.06 per cent, Nissan at 5.83 per cent, and Mitsubishi at 3.99 per cent.
