President William Ruto is expected to officially launch Opposition chief Raila Odinga’s candidature for the Africa Union Commission chairmanship.
The launch scheduled for Tuesday will also see the unveiling of the joint campaign secretariat, that will drive the AU campaigns.
In July, Kenya formally submitted the ODM leader's bid for the African Union chairmanship.
The AUC chairperson's seat is set to fall vacant in February 2025 when its current occupant, Moussa Faki Mahamat of Chad, finishes his second term.
The former Prime Minister is facing off with Djibouti’s Mohamoud Youssouf, Anil Gayan (Mauritius) and Richard Randriamandrato (Madagascar) for the African Union Commission chairmanship.
