The United Democratic Alliance led by deputy president William Ruto on February 1, released a breakdown of how much aspirants will pay to participate in the nomination exercise.

On Tuesday, the party said it has so far received over 5,000 aspirants across the country who have applied for UDA ticket for various seats. 

Those seeking the presidency are required to pay Sh1,000,000 for men, while females and youths will part with Sh500,000. 

So far, only Ruto has expressed interest in the party's presidential ticket. 

Females and youths are paying half the amount of men in each elective seat while people living with disabilities have been exempted from paying anything for the nomination exercise.

The group will participate in the nomination exercise for free.

Political parties have until April 22nd to conduct their nominations. This will pave way for official campaign period ahead of the August general elections.
