A story by a local news site citing a report by the Star titled "Diaspora in UK put Uhuru on notice over attacks to Ruto" is misleading.

In its report, the Star gave an account of a group of Kenyans in the Diaspora who attacked president Uhuru Kenyatta over alleged threats towards Deputy President William Ruto.

The story captured the group's take on the saga even as they defended DP Ruto while calling out Uhuru.

Fact-checker has however learnt that the writer of a news platform, Opera News Kenya, misreported our story.

In his story dubbed "Raila handed major blow just days to elections as fresh reports emerge from Diaspora", the writer used the screenshot of our story to substantiate his claims.

Fact-checker disassociates the Star from the reporting as that is not what we meant while writing our story.

We, therefore, ask readers to disregard it as the content has been manipulated.
