Friction is emerging between two groupings in the civil society space. One group that is mainly comprised of grassroots activists say they are getting the short end of the stick compared to another group they refer as “middle class activists”. Those at the grassroots argue that despite doing the mobilization and delivering the numbers, what they are remunerated does not commensurate. On the other hand, their “middle class” counterparts are living large, and are the one who conduct media interviews and appear on TV panels. The mobilisers ask for fairness so that they can all win together.

A youthful legislator from a county in Mt Kenya region is said to be involved in another shady business other than what he is known for. Corridors understands there have allegedly been complaints about the public business he covers in, with many clients complaining alleging their orders were not delivered. The legislator, who also has an ongoing case in court, has reportedly left many customers frustrated as he usually doesn’t pick their calls and is rarely found at his business premises.

Another youthful MP from the same region has mobilized a battalion of bloggers in an attempt to win back support in the backyard. The pro-government legislator is particularly seen to be targeting the youth in his forays. The legislator is from a hostile ground but since the visit by a big man to the region, he has camped in his constituency, holding meetings with women groups and the youth. However, some residents say his efforts are in futility as the die is already cast.

Attempts by an opposition figure to take advantage and ride on the Gen Z demonstrations for political points have fallen flat. The politico is among those in the opposition ranks who have been mobilizing for 2027 presidential elections. However, his past remarks and actions have come back to haunt him. Observers argue that the man has no moral authority to comment on the issue and should better keep off the matter altogether as it is counterproductive.
