A POLITICIAN FROM a cosmopolitan county is under fire after
backing out of a pledge to sponsor a group of youth to participate in the Gen Z
demos. Despite holding several planning meetings and allegedly making promises
to dish out money to those who will take part, the politician failed to honour
it, leaving the eager youth high and dry. We are told he not only went silent
but also switched off his phones. Insiders now say the sudden withdrawal came
after he was reportedly summoned by detectives from a top investigative agency.
He is said to have been warned of dire consequences after an intel report about
the plans leaked out.

SINCE GETTING INTO office, a governor has been suspicious of
everyone, including his domestic staff. The boss, always on news for drama and
fights, is so paranoid that he is said to have almost permanently reserved a
presidential suit at a top hotel in the capital as his residence. The man's
paranoia has seen him hide his family from the public. Now some taxpayers,
including MCAs in his area, are murmuring on whether the public will afford his
expensive taste fuelled by his fears.

A WOMAN REP and his male colleague are currently the talk of the town. Why? The two were allegedly entrusted with millions of shillings by two senior state officials from the region during a recent event. The money was meant to be distributed among local empowerment groups. However, instead of delivering the funds as promised, they reportedly disappeared without a trace. When word of their actions went round, furious locals confronted them demanding the money. While the two managed to escape, the scuffle turned chaotic some residents making away with the Woman Rep’s handbag. They also are said to have tore her dress in protest.

WHAT COULD THE MD of a key state corporation be so afraid of
that he rarely responds to WhatsApp messages? Some senior staff have quietly
raised concerns, saying they often struggle to get hold of him, even on urgent
matters. His level of caution appears extreme that he has obtained a ‘mulika
mwizi’ for office-related calls, avoiding smartphones altogether. May be his
paranoia stems from a multimillion-shilling scandal that allegedly rocked the
parastatal a few years ago, leading to the dismissal of several top executives.
Whatever the reason, it’s clear the man is taking no chances.
