A TOP GOVERNMENT official is said to
have been furious with one of the prestigious international schools and moved
his kids to another in protest. Why? The
school asked the official to stop dropping
off and picking up his children in school
“with the trappings of power”. It’s not clear
whether the school was uncomfortable
with the occasional sirens. The man has
now moved his children to even a more
expensive school.

WHAT ‘SIN’ DID one of the experts
seconded to government commit? This
is the question that many in the political
circle have been trying to find out. Sources
whispered to Corridors that the man who
is believed to be politically connected was
nearly sacked. Interestingly, the sacking
was not to be handled by the appointing
authority but by influential political forces.
A decision to save the man from the lucrative docket was made at the last minute.
However, a message has already been
sent that the whip can be cracked at any
time.

TROUBLE COULD SOON overwhelm a
county boss after a political supremo, who
has been his political insurance, appears
to change gears and his mind. The political
bigwig has reportedly said he is fed up with
what he calls the governor’s erratic management style. The governor’s latest decision to confront key establishments over
some dues, disrupting operations, is said to
be the straw that broke the camel’s back.
The big man has now told his inner circle
the county chief cannot be helped, given
his unilateral approach to thorny issues,
making him more unpopular by the day.

A POPULAR GOVERNOR’S alleged
attempt to force his preferred nominees
for the county’s Public Service Board has
flopped. This is after some MCAs raised
the red flag and threatened to mobilise
their colleagues to reject the nominees.
One of the key names in the list was the
governor’s niece. Also in the list was the
governor’s maternal uncle. Sensing defeat,
it is said the governor recalled the names
and said he is consulting widely before
making fresh replacements. Insiders say
the county boss was shocked that MCAs
had ganged up and vowed to block his
nominations.
