A LEGISLATOR FROM Nairobi and a road
authority reportedly appear to be competing for credit over a small stretch of road in
one of the suburbs. This section has been
problematic for years, and the contract
has been prolonged. However, despite the
delays, the quality of work remains poor.
The pavements and drainage have been
inadequately constructed. One wonders
why the MP and the parastatal are purportedly competing for recognition with such
substandard workmanship.

A SENIOR FIGURE in the current administration has purportedly had a falling
out with several high-ranking officers in a
ministry after they allegedly threatened to
cancel a multimillion-shilling contract awarded to his partners. Corridors understands
the ministry has reportedly issued an ultimatum to the contractor to complete the
work within a specified timeframe or face
termination of the contract. The contractor
has supposedly overstayed on site but is
yet to finish the work, even as the public
exerts pressure on the government regarding the unfortunate state of the road.

DISQUIET HAS ROCKED staff and residents of a county in Western Kenya. Why?
The governor has reportedly reinstated his
aide who has been accused by many of
high-handedness and unfair treatment of
officers. This individual has been allegedly
accused of sexually harassing his juniors
and demanding bribes from residents and
visitors seeking an audience with the governor. Last year, the governor supposedly succumbed to pressure after complaints
regarding the conduct of his aide. However,
it has emerged this man has been reinstated, purportedly triggering anger.

SPEAKING OF GOVERNORS, has a
second-term leader from one of the
ODM-dominated regions instructed
his guards not to allow a former aide to
access his office? Interestingly, sources
tell Corridors the aide, a journalist who
resigned after securing a position in the
county, has been reportedly seen at the
office months after the governor dismis- sed him. During his dismissal, the county
chief allegedly cited incompetence as the
reason for relieving the man. Nonetheless,
the journalist has been seeking a meeting
with the governor to supposedly plead for
reinstatement.
