A GOVERNOR FROM Mt Kenya has reportedly faced difficulties
with his former campaign financiers after he allegedly refused to support their
preferred candidate as his successor. Instead, the county leader has opted for
a senior official from his administration to succeed him, sparking a dispute.
The financiers, who include prominent business figures in the county, had
backed a lawmaker to take over governorship in the upcoming polls. However, the
governor believes that if elected as his successor, the MP will not safeguard
his ‘interests.’ He has now stated unequivocally that he will not support the
MP.

HAS A SECOND-TERM MP, who has been critical of a CS, made a
hasty retreat? Well, insiders suggest that the legislator is supposedly seeking
to mend ties with the CS, who oversees one of the most influential ministries.
Recently, he was reportedly seen conversing with the CS’s aides in what
appeared to be an attempt to arrange a meeting with the minister. Sources
indicate he has also allegedly reached out to some politicians to connect him
with the individual. The reason behind this sudden shift in attitude remains

beef that keeps escalating on the floor of the House. The fight is between a
high-ranking member in the House who holds a senior parliamentary leadership
post and a first-time member allied to an emerging opposition outfit. Thrice,
the members have allegedly engaged in an ugly altercation, forcing the speaker
to intervene. It seems the high-ranking member is reportedly learning from his
boss to personally go after members holding different political stands.

A POLITICAL BIGWIG from western Kenya could soon find
himself in trouble over what critics have said were irresponsible remarks. The
governor reportedly attacked a community during one of his many roadside
rallies. Those in the know say the remarks border on mockery of a whole
community, and is in violation of the cohesion law. Some are now allegedly
pushing the government to swing into action and bring the politician to book.
