A top bureaucrat in one of the key ministries has shocked his handlers. Since stepping into office, the youthful man has allegedly been summoning a director general of a key agency to the ministry almost on a daily basis. In fact, the nearly pissed off DG has been leaving mountains of files that need clearance on his table in order to attend to the honcho. The state officer also has a tendency of asking the DG to accompany him to some irrelevant functions. Senior officials at the key agency are frustrated that finding their boss at his desk , even to transact key businesses of the entity, is now impossible.

A senior government official at an address in the city is running helter-skelter amid reports that a big man is unhappy. The officer was recently given a thorough dressing down, with those in the know saying agencies which have had dramatic events recently are also under the radar. The man’s troubles have been compounded by the situation where several directives given by authorities are yet to be implemented. This is even as the public continually complains about the lack of service delivery at the ministry and others. A de-whipping is in the offing, we are told.

It was a humbling moment for two top officials of a budding political party who have been squabbling after they recently came face to face at their boss’ office. It was the first time the warring sides bumped onto each other. Insiders claim the party boss may have allegedly tricked the two sides into meeting at the premises, as part of the strategy to quell the tension which was threatening to tear the outfit apart. After short negotiations, each side mellowed and the barbs have since fizzled.
