The officer camped in Parliament for the better part of Tuesday as the senators debated on whether to hear the case in the plenary or through a special committee. The man spent hours meeting lawmakers in the morning hours before they trooped to the chamber to debate Kawira’s removal bid. Eventually, the Senate agreed to hear the case in plenary after a majority of the lawmakers voted to reject the formation of a committee.
