Former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni has maintained that he is the legally recognised Jubilee party secretary general.
Kioni on Tuesday affirmed that the former ruling party is in the opposition coalition, Azimio La Umoja, to stay.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Jambo, Kioni said he hopes that the High Court will settle the matter fairly with finality soon.
"We shall fight to the bitter end," Kioni said on the legal battle that his faction has launched against a rival group led by former Kieni MP Kanini Kega.
"The High Court is not like a Baraza, the High Court will be firm against this scheme, we also have trust in the Court of Appeal."
The former MP said that the reason why there is a fight for the heart and soul of Jubilee is that his faction has rejected a scheme to have the party pull out of Azimio.
Kioni claimed the current administration was hatching what he termed a scheme to kill strong political parties from Mt Kenya because of their support for Azimio.
"The Jubilee problem came because we are in Azimio, UDA does not want strong parties that support Raila," he said.
At the same time, Kioni claimed that the current administration is determined to obliterate multiparty democracy and return the country to the dark days of dictatorship.
He said the framers of the Constitution made a deliberate move to safeguard political parties by entrenching the Office of the Registrar of Parties in the law.
Kioni said that the import of the law was to ensure that the ruling class does not kill political parties.
However, he said, the current trend is worrying because parties critical of the government are being targeted and crippled.
"This is against the spirit of the constitution that sought to protect parties through a clear law," he said.
Kioni has moved to the High Court to challenge a decision of the political parties tribunal that upheld his replacement as Jubilee secretary general.
A rival faction led by Kega, and said to be loyal to President William Ruto, kicked out Kioni and some other top officials of the party.
Kioni said that the clampdown on political parties is part of the reason why Jubilee decided to participate in the anti-government protests.
