A House committee is seemingly notorious for asking officials who appear before members to remain behind after the chairperson ends sittings. The committee secretariat, journalists and even members of the public present are usually asked to leave the room for members to have a small talk with the officials. Staff accompanying the officials are not spared as they too have to wait for their boss outside. The talks sometimes last for up to half an hour, even when there is another group waiting to come in.
