Have a group of opposition MPs and a former governor finally succeeded in splitting their governor and his deputy? This seems to be the case. Sources tell Corridors the lot has been meeting one of the top two county leaders in a scheme to estrange them. It is understood the former governor has been offended by the way his successor has treated him since he took over. And so he is on a mission to expose him, using his close associate. Corridors understands the two top leaders no longer see eye to eye, with one threatening to expose the other for embezzlement, just six months after they were elected.
Still on governors, why was a first-term county chief so defensive of his predecessor during his recent meeting with a parliamentary oversight committee? Some legislators have been asking about this state of affairs. This is after the governor surprisingly defended his predecessor over reports of misappropriation of funds. The Auditor General reported billions of shillings were mismanaged by the previous regime. But the county chief vigorously defended his predecessor. In fact, he informed the panel an investigation that he ordered vindicated the former governor of any wrongdoing. The two are close allies.

A top official of a Western county could be on the verge of losing a key post. It has emerged that the resume presented contained false information. The official, who is said to be having an affair with one of the top county bosses, is unfazed and was heard boasting that no amount of threats will take away the hotly contested post. Officials in the county now say the official has become a nuisance to colleagues and has an egocentric attitude.
