Wonder why elected leaders in a western county have remained silent about the nightmare of ghost workers, even after an audit revealed the severity of the problem? It it is emerging the workers were brought on board by second-term MCAs, senior officers and influential politicians. The ghost workers are said to have played a key role in the re-election of the ward reps and even some MPs and were only rewarded by being given positions in the county government. A county government staffer confided the ghost workers are not going anywhere, not in the near future.
