It was fun while it lasted, but the music's over

A senior official in one of the parastatals is shaking in his own boots. Reason? The man is in office illegally after being installed by his godfather during the transition period. Fearing being swept away by the current administration, the man has started aligning himself with the who's who.  Corridors is informed he organised a grand reception for the new CS at the ministry's headquarters and later a dinner at one of the five-star hotels in town. At the venue, we are told, he made sure no one else sat at the same table with the new boss and he was seen taking notes and constantly nodding at the boss.
