Sources familiar with the probe that began in October have told Corridors of Power the county boss made huge financial transactions using the proxies during the height of Covid-19 restrictions. The investigators from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (pictured) are said to have tracked down the suspicious transactions, placing the governor at the centre of the web. Is the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai aware that residents of an estate in Nairobi's Eastlands are suffering sleepless nights because loud music is blasted from a club in a residential area. The club associated with a police officer operates until the wee hours and is normally filled to capacity with clientele. Drunken revellers usually shout at the top of their lungs, heedless that hard working residents need  rest. Moreover, music is played all the time. Some residents have fled the area, which is reported to be home to criminals who waylay them. Sick and tired, residents are now appealing to the Police IG and National Environment Management Authority to take action against the noisy offenders and restore normalcy.

A recent appointee to one of the country's prestigious offices has become the talk of town for wining and dining with persons opposed to the developments around the office. The leader, who has attracted attention for his association with the opposing political side, is said to have made life difficult for staff, even in senior management of the entity's affairs. Those in the financial department are the most affected and have been redeployed, without offices to report to, and left hanging. Insiders say the scheme is to create room for the top authorities to continue with fictitious deals common with the entity's managers.

A county employee from Nyanza is a marked man after he disappeared with the cash left behind by a politician who recently visited. The employee is said to have kept off the office for two weeks now for fear of boda boda operators who have been camping at county headquarters, scanning vehicles for him. The official is said to have received the cash for onwards transmission to the leadership of the riders' group but money and human nature being what they are, less than a quarter of what was declared reached the group. Attempts to make him surrender the rest have been futile as he plays cat-and-mouse games in town. The riders pledge to teach the man a lesson for what they call unforgivable greed.
