Is a top county official from Nyanza in trouble with Raila Odinga's (picured) ODM party? The 'lightweight' party honcho could have run into trouble with Orange House over his 2022 political plans. The official has declared he will run for a seat reserved for a party luminary as part of the pre-2022 negotiations. Recently, the official was in the eye of a storm when he tried to convene a meeting of county party delegates to instal himself as the branch chairperson. Orange House is said to have been infuriated by the move and denounced the convention as illegal. It is not clear how the county official will now navigate turbulent county politics to secure his political ambitions.

A top Ford Kenya official in Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's faction is a man under siege. Despite having been well-facilitated to host a section of delegates at a Nairobi hotel, he is said to have taken some of them to his own house and pocketed their accommodation allowances. Corridors understand that the delegates nearly caused a stir at the Bomas of Kenya when they realised that they had been conned out their money. It took the intervention of top party officials to avert an embarrassing situation. The party official was left with egg on his face.

Is a fledgling political alliance firing political 'blanks'? It now appears after the outfit held a few rallies a few days ago, they are running out of steam to sustain their campaigns. This has left many political pundits to predict an imminent collapse of the outfit as the country hurtles towards the 2022 general election. One of the main luminaries, the assumed financier, could be planning his own parallel events in the coming days. Has the boat been rocked by massive tides that could capsize it even before it casts off? All is not well.

A Cabinet secretary nursing political ambitions clashed with an MP from his own county during a night meeting at a Nairobi hotel on Tuesday evening. The MP told the state officer to his face that he will not take lightly his plans to sponsor a rival aspirant in his own constituency. The gist of the matter is that the CS is trying to punish the MP for failing to champion the interests of a recently launched political party by propping up a rival. A mole who attended the session said the furious lawmaker lectured the CS, telling him to stop intimidating him. There are reports the meeting ended abruptly following the altercation that lasted a couple of minutes.
