The political firestorm within the Jubilee Party is getting intense and may require the intervention of President Uhuru Kenyatta (pictured). Sources whisper to Corridors that a former MP recently hired at the Pangani headquarters was on Wednesday beaten up by angry staff whose contracts have been terminated. The ex-MP is said to have been hired by powerful people within the establishment. After verbal exchanges, one of the former directors battered the former lawmaker. The accusation is that some few individuals, including a powerful woman, are making unilateral decisions to the detriment of the party.

A political heavyweight from Mt Kenya who has been blowing hot and cold about his 2022 presidential debut is walking a tightrope. The politico has found himself between a rock and a hard place as the presidential campaigns intensify. At one point, he had signalled he could pull out of the race in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta's choice. However, he recently shocked all and sundry when he fired a fresh salvo at the President's handlers, saying he will go all the way to the ballot. This is despite the fact that he lacks the political gusto and financial muscle to execute a successful presidential campaign. There are reports he has sold one of his palatial homes in Nairobi to raise campaign cash.

Just how disconnected is a party bigwig from the promises that are flying left right and centre in the 2022 forays? Well, keen observers were overheard laughing off a promise by the big man with regard to a water project that has stalled for over three decades. Funding for the multibillion-shilling project has yet to be approved by the Cabinet. Whilst the unsuspecting masses were celebrating, those who took note of the false promise say the targeted beneficiaries should know that the project is not coming anytime soon. Attorney General Kihara Kariuki recently made the same clear in an advisory that the bigwig could be unaware of.

A senior political player from Western has been strangely missing in action. The man, who was a face of a newly founded political movement, no longer features even in the outfit’s activities. Our moles whisper he may have been shoved aside for his bad behaviour of wanting to reap where he has not sown. Those aware of his situation say the fellow lost favour with his new bosses after they learned of the long distance between him and honesty. His woes could deepen as the sources have equally closed all the taps that sustained him after he suffered a miserable loss at the ballot.
