A female legislator (Parliament pictured) is regretting making a comment to suggest that some of her colleagues owe their positions in the House and county assemblies to the sexual favours they extend to senior politicians. Word is that women leaders from her county have organised a series of protests over the remarks. The legislator, who will be seeking to retain her seat next year, is said to have sent some emissaries to cool down matters but with little success. Organisers of the protests have insisted that they will not accept anything short of a public apology.

A legislator from Western region humiliated a deputy governor, who is seeking to succeed his boss, in his village by poking holes in his development record. The MP, who is also eying the seat, asked the deputy governor to explain why his village was among the poorest areas in the county. He further asked him to explain why he thinks he will change life on his home turf come 2022 yet he had done nothing over the years. When he rose to speak, the deputy governor was not given the opportunity to explain himself as the crowd became hostile. He had no option but to go back to his seat.

A female legislator from Western Kenya who had shown interest in succeeding her governor has suddenly gone quiet. For sometime, the lawmaker was seen as the possible successor of the county boss owing to her closeness to senior politicians in her party. It is suspected that the return of a former MP from the region to the political arena could be the lawmaker's reason for a sudden change of plan. The former MP has declared he will be also going for the seat and he is also very close to the party leadership.
