A politician from the Mount Kenya region, known for showing off his pricey possessions, is currently finding it hard to make a comeback into national politics. Reason? The man has been suffering a backlash whenever he attempts to speak in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s (pictured) administration in his daily runs at the county. A mole in his camp tells Corridors of Power that the politician is worried as his rivals have regrouped and are working on an alliance to stop him. Word is that the politician has tasked his brother to reach out to MCAs who can support his gubernatorial bid.

A lawmaker has set tongues wagging amid revelations he may have appointed his son, daughter and nephew to plum posts at his constituency office. More troubling for the concerned constituents is that the three have been put on a salary scale way above other staffers at the office. The lot is poised to draw salaries until the end of the current Parliament's term. Corridors is apprised that the man has a penchant for posting his relatives to constituency jobs. We are told it wouldn’t be surprising if it emerges that all the people in the office are close to the lawmaker in one way or another.

A presidential aspirant recently found himself on the wrong side of power brokers when he attempted to buy a political party owned by an influential politician. The fellow was conned out of hundreds of thousands of shillings while trying to buy the party whose popularity is growing by the day going by its small wins. A little bird whispers to Corridors that the politician has decided to form his own party ahead of the 2022 General Election and has been issued with an interim certificate. Those around him say they are worried that the man is a slow learner and easily fleeced.

A county assembly speaker from Nyanza, who has lately been in the crossfire over alleged fictitious legal claims, is reeling from shock after getting a tongue lashing from a junior officer last week. Apparently, the overbearing speaker had directed the driver to take a sick MCA to the hospital. The MCA had Covid-19 and the speaker failed to inform the driver about the MCA's condition, thus putting him at risk of contracting the virus. Annoyed by the action of his boss, the driver reminded the speaker of the corruption allegations he is facing. Shocked MCAs and staff are now waiting to see the speaker's next move.
