Governor hopeful in frantic rush to get ODM ticket

A governor hopeful may have given up on prospects to seek the seat under the ODM party. The lawmaker, who has vowed that nothing will stop the 2022 bid, is now courting elders from the county to prevail on Party leader Raila Odinga  to help unlock the ticket which is said to be a sure bet for those who ride on it. There is talk in the politician’s circles that should the worst happen, an independent ticket would still suffice. A text message sent to one of the elders confirmed the lawmaker’s desperate efforts to clinch the ODM ticket.

The much-touted tour of Deputy President William to Kisumu backyard was probably not in the works after all. Corridors is apprised that the talk of the trip was just works of propagandists out to weigh the nature of reception the tour would get. The recent presser by some youths condemning local elders who had cautioned Ruto on how to behave when in the lakeside county and  welcoming the DP  is said to have equally thrown the plans into disarray. Word is that most of those who staged the presser now walk with their eyes over their shoulders amid a vow by some groupings to teach them a lesson ‘for painting Kisumu as a begging city’.

A contractor working on a road in Karachuonyo, Homa Bay county seems to be getting his designs work. Those frequenting the road are up in arms against the company whom they accuse of doing a shoddy job. They say the ongoing works have left the road worse off than it was before. The road is supposed to be upgraded to bitumen standards but that appears to bea  tall order for the contractor. Locals want the Kenya Rural Roads Authority to consider changing the workmen.

County Executive Committee Members of an Eastern county have panicked big time following the wave of impeachments targeting them. Well, MCAs at the county appear to be using all means to get at the region’s governor whom they have been unable to impeach. A third CEC is now on the chopping board in the escalated fight to get to the governor. Talk is rife that those behind the well-orchestrated scheme - said to be driven by zeal to destabilise the county - are out lobbying the county lawmakers to buy into the impeachment agenda.
