Just this week, we told you of a greedy Cabinet Secretary who gives jobs to his relatives. Corridors has learnt that he is at it again. This time, however, Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua should take note. The man is pushing for his brother-in-law to be appointed to the Teachers Service Commission as a member. The in-law was among 24 candidates shortlisted for the plum job. The shortlisting has put the selection panel on the spot. Why? The man being fronted by the CS has numerous integrity issues. For instance, in 2017, he was charged with attempting to bribe IEBC officials to influence county elections. In his previous jobs, the man is alleged to have been involved in several cases of misconduct. So, did the panel do a basic background check on this candidate? Well, someone has got to stand tall to stop impunity.
Who is next after Busia Senator Amos Wako in the US ban list? Some MPs were overheard discussing why a top government official and his aides could be in the list. The ban, they claimed, could dent the official’s political ambition. The man is alleged to be a "big tenderpreneur" and was an accomplice of several parastatal chiefs, who have since been dragged to court. The MPs, mostly from a faction of Jubilee, wondered how the official has remained standing, despite what they claimed is overwhelming evidence.
An MCA from Nyanza is the talk of the town after publicly confessing to visiting a 'witch doctor' to block an embattled speaker from accessing the assembly. The MCA is said to have broken his silence after falling out with another faction and began bragging of how he was the force behind their success for several months. Now, following the falling-out over millions given out to do some bidding for an executive, the man has vowed to spill the beans on their past manoeuvres to block the official.
Some officers attached to Bomachoge Borabu CDF office could soon find themselves in trouble. Together with goons working at the whims of an unknown master, some of the officials resorted to kicks and blows as they attacked a client who had made enquiries at the Kenyenya town office. Questions are being asked why the officers assaulted the young man even after pleading innocent. In a video that has gone viral, one of the officials is overheard complaining why the young man had come to the office, yet he supports a different political faction. Despite pleas from some women, the client was railed with kicks and left for dead. Curiously, a police station is located some 10 metres away. It is not clear why police officers did not take action and if they are investigating.
