Celebrated dancer Said Makdar Mahfuth, popularly known as Kanda King, has described his deceased father as caring, loving and cheerful.
"At no one time did he ever lift his hand on my mum or my brother or sisters," he told Word Is.
Kanda King's father died of cardiac arrest on February 11. "He was not sick at all but on this fateful day, he came home and complained of gastric ulcer," he said.
Kanda King, who made a name for himself for more than two decades, recounted his last moments with his father, saying he died before he reaching the hospital.
He was buried on February 12 at Kariokor Muslim cemetery.
The dancehall veteran said he spent most of his time with his father at his workplace.
King's sister Princess Faridah described her father as a soft-spoken and happy person.
