Even Deputy Gachagua is not sure if he will retain his position because President William Ruto has said he wants a woman for running mate.
Neither Gachagua nor Nyoro meet that condition, which, of course, could change with political winds.
So, one can ask what Ndindi is up to.
In any case, Ndindi has Ruto’s blessings.
Ndindi is building up his reputation and political acceptability for the future.
He is a strong, brilliant and smart young man whose vision is obviously not in the next four years.
We are talking about 10 years or so.
So, if he gets name recognition now across the country, the better for him.
He has done very well in his Kiharu constituency, with bursaries and education generally.
He does not need to be at home anymore. He needs to go out.
That is what he is doing.
He is moving around to get people to know him, and he is not doing it without the go-ahead from somewhere. He is moving across the country.
But he needs to be very careful not to offend anybody because what he is doing is likely to offend some people, especially if he outshines them.
What he is doing is very good, and maybe in 10 to 15 years’ time, he will be somewhere. He is a young man. He is a very young man.
So, when the time comes, and he will be seeking a big job, he will not need to work very hard for people to know who he is.
The big question would be, why is running supporting him? Ruto is a politician. He has a following and many others in his circle.
If he retires, he would want someone friendly at the helm.
At the moment, Ndindi is not a threat to Gachagua because that is obviously not his plan. Ndindi wants a bigger thing and he has started working for it now.
For Gachagua, he may not aim higher because he seems to make errors everywhere at the wrong time and there’s never a ‘right’ time for errors by the DP.
He also doesn’t have the best history in the world Remember his days as District Officer?
