Followers of embattled Pastor Ezekiel Odero on Tuesday gathered outside Shanzu Law Courts as they prayed for his release.
Members of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church in Mavueni, Kilifi county carried placards, seeking the freedom of their leader.
"Government, save thousands of souls by only freeing pastor Ezekiel Odero," the placard read.
Donned in white attires, while others were wearing deras, white tops with red bottoms, the followers were heard praying, asking God to come through for their leader.
"May he be released so that we have our normal services and prayers," they were heard shouting.
Pastor Paul Mackenzie was rearrested immediately after he had secured his release.
The Pastor and his co-accused are now at Shanzu Law Courts in Mombasa.
Mackenzie has been accused of manipulating people through skewed, extreme religious teachings and fear of the unknown in pursuit of salvation, leading to the deaths of many of his followers.
Ezekiel is accused of conspiracy to murder, crimes against humanity, abduction, child cruelty and money laundering.
The state had applied that he be denied bond, saying the planned charges are complex.
Ezekiel also distanced himself from Pastor Paul Mackenzie who is suspected of indoctrinating his followers to starve to death.
